During the visit, Irina Bokova will participate at the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, on the theme of “Peace and Harmony as a Choice of Humankind.” In her intervention, the Director-General will underline UNESCO’s longstanding role in strengthening “the intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind” through intercultural dialogue.
The Director-General will also participate in an official ceremony on the establishment of the Central Asian Regional Glaciological Center as a UNESCO Category 2 center. The Central Asian Regional Glaciological Center will be established at the Institute of Geography of Kazakhstan with the aim to support the sustainable management of the region’s water resources.
Irina Bokova will also attend an exhibition of the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs.
