UNESCO and Bahçeşehir University will engage in joint initiatives building on the potential of culture and education to address challenges in relation to intercultural dialogue and human rights education. The cooperation will also aim to develop post-graduate and interdisciplinary research on social issues from a human rights perspective. Mr. Yucel emphasized the importance of “sustaining youth aspirations for knowledge and development across the world and their quest for human dignity”.
Stressing the ever growing interelationship between education and culture to achieve social inclusion and sustainable peace, the Director-General concluded “Education and Culture will be the foundation for our cooperation and for our joint action”. “We must share good practices and experiences in order to advance our mission for sustainable peace”.
