UNESCO and Bahçeşehir University sign an agreement to advance dialogue amongst cultures, social cohesion and peace

 

In the presence of H.E. Mr Tahsin Burcuoglu, the Ambassador of Turkey to France, Mr. Gurcan Turkoglu, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Turkey to UNESCO, Mr. Enver YÜCEL, Founder of Bahçeşehir University and President of the Board of Trustees, Members of the Steering Committee of Bahçeşehir University, and Mr. Abe Radkin, Executive Director of the Aladin Project, the Director-General of UNESCO, Ms. Irina Bokova signed a Memorandum of Understanding between UNESCO and Bahçeşehir University to promote cooperation through joint initiatives in the areas of culture and human rights education to advance mutual understanding, social cohesion and peace.“I thank Mr. Yücel for his engagement with UNESCO’s work, and especially for his support to UNESCO’s flagship initiative Culture: A Bridge to Development, aiming to harness the healing power of culture for reconciliation and cooperation. Culture is a dynamic force for dialogue and innovation, a motor for social cohesion” said Irina Bokova.
