According to the Ancient Esoteric Philosophy, January 4th is the occult New Year as it commemorates the time 18 million years ago when spiritual beings from higher planes of being incarnated into the mindless human forms of the Third Root-Race and illuminated the darkness with the light of self-conscious mind. This event began a new cycle in the evolution of humanity on this globe. Astronomically, this time of year signifies the beginning of a new cycle when the daylight hours will become progressively longer as the sun light shines more directly on the northern hemisphere in the weeks and months to come. It is an opportune time to consider the meaning of those Sun-Gods of ancient traditions.
The Sun-Gods are also called the “Sons of the Fire,” and the Sons of the Fire-Mist.” The symbolic terms, such as “Fire,” “Flame,” “Day,” and “Light,” associated with the Sun-Gods need to be understood. They are hierarchies of sentient spiritual beings who direct the forces that influence the evolution of the Cosmos and Humanity. The so-called 'Solar Deities' completed the “inner man” by providing the light of mind ( new universal programming: special settings on the crystalline light vibrations, for the deep uplifting DNA Codes Upgrades ). @ They set fire to the mind principle latent in the monads of the mindless human forms. They are called “The Sons of Fire” because they are Mind Beings evolved from Primordial Fire. What is Primordial Fire? According to the Esoteric Philosophy, there are two primordial fires. One is the formless, invisible, and eternal fire of the central spiritual sun that precedes the manifestation of the universe. It may be considered one with the Absolute. The second is its periodic manifestation. It is the electric fire of primordial manifested matter, Akasa, that becomes sevenfold like everything else once the universe manifests and differentiates. Therefore, the first manifested hierarchies are sometimes referred to as “Flames.” (Unity Flames Spiritual Alliances)...
One of the seven manifestations of cosmic fire is the fire of mind or knowledge that burns up ignorance and illusion. It is this fire that is possessed and shared with humanity by the Sun-Gods also called the “Fires.” (Eternal Flames) - W.Q. Judge writes in “The Ocean of Theosophy”:
